As of my last knowledge update in September 2022, the best way to travel to Bocas del Toro from North America would typically involve flying to Panama City and then taking a connecting flight or bus to Bocas del Toro. Keep in mind that travel options and routes may change, so it's essential to check for the latest information.
Most travelers from North America would fly into Tocumen International Airport (PTY) in Panama City.
From Panama City, you have several options to get to Bocas del Toro.
By Air: There are domestic flights from Marcos A. Gelabert International Airport (PAC) in Panama City to Bocas del Toro International Airport (BOC).
By Bus and Boat: You can also take a bus or taxi to Albrook Bus Terminal and then a bus to Almirante. From Almirante, you can take a boat to Bocas Town on Isla Colón.
Some travelers also opt for flying directly from North America to Bocas del Toro, but these flights might be limited, and schedules may vary.
Due to changes in global travel conditions, it's crucial to check for any travel restrictions, entry requirements, and health protocols related to COVID-19.
Once you're in Bocas del Toro, local transportation includes water taxis, bicycles, and walking.
Always check for the latest information on flight schedules, travel restrictions, and transportation options before planning your trip, as these details can change. Additionally, consider reaching out to travel agencies or forums for the most up-to-date advice and recommendations from fellow travelers.
